A's coming to Fremont, am I dreaming?

The news is a few days OLD and its TRUE!! A's are coming to Fremont, very close to where i live. CISCO is bringing them in with new A's ballpark. My best guess would be that they'll be CISCO A's rather than Fremont A's, but I wish am wrong.

Religion, Spirituality and Superstition

There's a thin line between these and is defined by every individual.. Me, I consider myself religious, which includes morning prayers (thou i take Sundays off, thats cause I get up in evening :), special prayers on Tuesdays and a few temple visits every now and then. I believe in God, her power and agree that "Thou shall ripe the fruit of thy doing", needless to say am a God fearing man.
Same person and there's a different side of me, I listen to R&B and Hip Hop more often than any other forms of musik (and you know what the shit that is), I never picked up my JanamKundali and don’t believe future can be written on paper, I believe in Karma and that each of us is "Self Made". I don’t believe marriages are made in Heaven and don’t think there's Good or Bad Luck, even though I wish everyone a good luck just to see smile on their face.
I still haven't figured out spiritual side of me and thats what confuses me, and get more confused when i meet people who are supposedly spiritual, using spirituality as an excuse to shy away from truth and responsibilities, a reason to run away from reality. Real nightmare is when I think about spirituality bridging gap between Religion and Superstition. I could be wrong, and I wish I am wrong, bit I still have to figure it out.

Relation between Relativity Quantum and String theories

These are the most difficult concepts i have ever come across. For starters, these theory are laid out to explain the existence of UNIVERSE (i mean not man, not animal, not even earth and solar system, its trying to explain damn Universe), jokes apart, i'll make a sincere effort to write it in my words. Lets start with General Relativity, published by Einstein which unifies special relativity (space and time) with Law of gravitation...
Compiling the rest..

Cracking the Da Vinci Code!!

I remember trying to crack this code last time and couldn't get head and tail out of it. Tonight i just wanted to crack the code; I had a feeling that even if I can’t, I will be very close.
But amazingly, I cracked it in less than 2 minutes. I looked at it for a minute, and like as if I understood everything, I started putting peaces together and that was it. I got it!!
The question that followed was weird and I couldn't understand which pic its referring to :p. Well the answer was right there on Google. "blade".

Barry Steroids Bonds??

San Francisco Giant Barry Bonds, who is under federal investigation over possible perjury over whether he used steroids, hit his 713th career home run on Sunday May 7th 2006, against the Philadelphia Phillies. Bringing him at par with Babe Ruth for second place in Major League Baseball's all-time homer list.
Bonds, 41, may now also set his sights on the all-time home run record of 755 held by Hank Aaron although many Phillies fans believe Bonds is not worthy of that honor.
A banner held up by some Phillies fans on Sunday said: "Ruth did it on hot dogs and beer, Aaron did it with class. How did you do it?" [extracts from http://tvnz.co.nz]
Personally i believe Barry Bond should go on trial, he should either come clean if he never did and should enjoy the respect and fame he deserves, or, like some of his critics wants his achievements to be ShiftDel from Baseball's books for ever. In either case i think, new generation, many of who wants to be like Barry, will have a lesson to learn.

Song i like the most - TIME

-----------------------------------------------
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Bhavishya Sharma: Thanks Dipthefal for ur commets,
I think that Pink Floyd under Syd Barret and Pink Floyd under Roger Waters have to be viewed as two very separarte entities playing to two different audiences. It was the late 60's when Barret had creative control, and there was a real Space-pyschadelia scene, which is reflected in a Saucerfull of Secrets. But, by the time Waters was in control of the band, times had changed and tastes had moved on, so it is little wonder the band's sound changes distinctly.

Cinco De Mayo !! - May 5th

Cinco De Mayo is a popular Maxican holiday and falls on 5th of May. On this day 4,000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City on the morning of May 5, 1862.

History [Source: Encyclopedia Encarta, Encyclopedia Britanica, Prescott's Mexico:1900, HistoryChannel.com, www.mexonline.com and other sources.]

The battle at Puebla in 1862 happened at a violent and chaotic time in Mexico's history. Mexico had finally gained independence from Spain in 1821 after a difficult and bloody struggle, and a number of internal political takeovers and wars, including the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) and the Mexican Civil War of 1858, had ruined the national economy.

Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian

During this period of struggle Mexico had accumulated heavy debts to several nations, including Spain, England and France, who were demanding repayment. Similar debt to the U.S. was previously settled after the Mexican-American War. France was eager to add to its empire at that time, and used the debt issue to move forward with goals of establishing its own leadership in Mexico. Realizing France's intent of empire expansion, Spain and England withdrew their support. When Mexico finally stopped making any loan payments, France took action on it's own to install Napoleon's relative, Archduke Maximilian of Austria, as ruler of Mexico.Mexico Confronts The Invasion

Map showing Veracruz, site of the French invasion

France invaded at the gulf coast of Mexico along the state of Veracruz (see map) and began to march toward Mexico City, a distance today of less than 600 miles. Although American President Abraham Lincoln was sympathetic to Mexico's cause, and for which he is honored in Mexico, the U.S. was involved in its own Civil War at the time and was unable to provide any direct assistance.

Gen. Zaragoza

Marching on toward Mexico City, the French army encountered strong resistance at the Mexican forts of Loreto and Guadalupe. Lead by Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin, a small, poorly armed militia estimated at 4,500 men were able to stop and defeat a well outfitted French army of 6,500 soldiers, which stopped the invasion of the country. The victory was a glorious moment for Mexican patriots, which at the time helped to develop a needed sense of national unity, and is the cause for the historical date's celebration. Unfortunately, the victory was short lived. Upon hearing the bad news, Napoleon had found an excuse to send more troops overseas to try and invade Mexico again, even against the wishes of the French populace. 30,000 more troops and a full year later, the French were eventually able to depose the Mexican army, take over Mexico City and install Maximilian as the ruler of Mexico.Maximilian's rule of Mexico was also short lived, from 1864 to 1867. With the American Civil War now over, the U.S. began to provide more political and military assistance to Mexico to expel the French, after which Maximilian was executed by the Mexicans - today his bullet riddled shirt is on display in the museum at Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City. So despite the eventual French invasion of Mexico City, Cinco de Mayo honors the bravery and victory of General Zaragoza's small, outnumbered militia at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Back with a BANG!!

Yes, I am back, back with a BANG. Got what i wanted, a good job in one good org. Good salary and excellent perks, Office in San Francisco, which means i'll have to move to city, what more can i ask for.
There's a popular indi saying "There's no limit to what God can give when he's happy". Happened with me, 3 offers, each better than other. Am quite pleased with myself, will start working form 8th of April, hopefully (depends on how much time background check'll take).
So the plan now is, work hard, very hard for next 6 months, apply for GC and prepare for GMAT. Get into dream university and wolla!!
Going through the history of my Blogs, seems like am on right track, taking one step at a time to the place i want to be.
Still remember last year, month of June when I was told to go back, all my preparations, planing and hope in drain. Decided that am gonna quit, come back and get back to my plans. It was a topsy turfy ride, lots of ups and downs. Asked myself, many a times, is it a right thing to do or an end to my career. What if things don't go the way i plan. Had that excellent offer in Gurgaon and i turned it down. The more i looked strong from outside, the truth is, i was shit scared inside. Don't even remember how many sleepless nights i have been through, praying and hoping for this ONE DAY. Yeh, this is the day i did it all for.

GDrive

So Google is on its way for another BIG idea.. I couldn’t resist but write on it.
I missed Google launch, was late to get Gmail. I know this one will create a history, and want to be few one who wrote the first blog on it. So let me say as a user what does it mean to me. Hoping that its an unlimited storage option, i can get rid of my 160 Gig HDD, which replaced my CDs and DVDs, though i still need to carry it. But not anymore, here comes the "GDrive", all my stuff gets loaded to it. Atleast one less thing i would run to grab on early hours of Thanksgiving. One less thing i'll have to remember to carry on my trip abroad.
And remember that “very important information”, i generally keep a hardcopy of that, just in case my external hard drive crashes, with Google I think I can trust them to maintain my storage backups (just in case). And what all can i store, well, important documents, sample codes, resume, musik, movie clips, pics, favorites and a lot more.
And now comes the million $ question, can i trust them with my confidential information. I mean confidential in any respect, It could be someone's financial information or the tokens of wild side. What if system crashes or worse Google surrenders to Government and let them scan the information. I guess it depends on individuals, while am eagerly waiting for this one to come up and get over with the burden of carrying big drives, i would still be cautious on what i upload and to start with, would definitely keep a backup.

Got the information on GDrive from Article : Going for a GDrive with Google News.blog CNET News.com

Here i go again

So am back to square one, just the way i started 5 yrs back. Well not exactly, there's a difference, a different place, different profile, more money, off-course there's a choice, and i feel like am controlling my life. Stared working in San Leandro from 3rd, and o boy i wont forget how tough it was to get this job, not because the market is bad or i couldn't get through with interviews, but cause my new Employer (and this is funny) wanted me to work at their client's place and that's what i hate, didn't i tell them the reason why i quit my last job. No regrets, i have decided to switch again next month.
All said and done, now after a month where am i gonna end up? No idea, but i feel its gonna be something good, real good. I hardly have a good job but still future looks promising.
The new work place is pretty good, my mentor is a very knowledgeable guy, the kind of mentor i always wished for. I guess he wasn't too interested picking me up for this job cause i didn't had experience with Sharepoint, but i guess i did pretty good in all rounds of interviews and he wasn't left with much choice. Am kinda proud of the way i am, i proved it in a week that technology is a game for me. Started delivering from my 3rd day on job. Yesterday, after a week of joining, i completed the first task of writing interface for sharepoint web-service, which i think is not easy, considering that i started from zero a week before.
Am planing to write a parallel technical blog. I really have worked my tails off for things at work and wanna share it with the world. Maybe someone can cut and paste the code and wouldn't need to spend nights at work and bless me, like the way i bless all those who uploaded their hard work on internet helping me save many a nights out of office.

An well our "Google" God will help the stuff reach to all those who are in need.

I also created my website www.bhavishyasharma.com try and visit it if you need to see my resume. Am planing to put some pictures and some interesting stuff in coming days.
Till then in my broken deutsch Auf Wiedersehen!!

Back in Bay

So am back in Bay Area, just as i planned. Uncertainty still lingers around. Still have to look for that dream job and later get into that dream university. Howz all this goona happen? Well, am positive, I have crossed several milestones, will get that too.
Journey wasn’t bad, i was too tired and slept all the way through, got up 2 hrs ahead of SFO.
Last month was really good and refreshing. After being away from home for 11 years , I was with my parents and sis for 1 whole month and you know what, I did drive in India and did it pretty well. I remember I was always so scared to do that, even though I drove almost every other place in world I have been to.
Technically, i was at a better position few months back than I am today, but am satisfied. Indeed very satisfied. Seems like the cloud has cleared up and the sun is shining. Awaiting for that brighter future which my friends and family says I deserve.

Independence Day ;)

So i resigned today, with a mistake of writing except instead of accept :) and realizing it just after pressing the send button. Well, so here i am, once again on an unknown road (i bet it can not be worse than Bangalore’s pothole filled crap), with lot of question, where will it lead me to, where will i end up, will i survive and so on..
Why this uncertainty comes back after every 3 years. Maybe that’s what life is, or atleast my life is.. Need a constant change.
You must me amazed as to why I named this Para as “Independence Day”.
I guess my life was not in my control, I was living on my employer’s wish. My life was governed by my org. The can send or call me back whenever they want.. Not even for once they asked me what I wish, I tried to but no one cared.
Like some people here say.. We are just a resource, who has lesser value than other resources (like the real estate and computer).
From here onwards, I am planning to live my life by my own wish and rules. I’ll keep posting and lets see where I land up.. Will I get what I want. :)

Silence after the Storm (For all H1B aspirants)

I always thought getting a good job and proving yourself is the key. Never knew there are other things that can be marked as achievement. Went for my H1B a couple of days back. Don’t want to hang-on with the suspense so, Well I got it!!
(With an exclamation).
Why has it come to this? Its not the first time I was at a consulate especially US, but then I was nervous. Maybe this is first time I wanted it for myself. Maybe I was hearing too many rejections at the window.
Well here's the Key: Make a story (make sure its true) and support it with documents. If you can prove your story, you have it.
The news that the cap is likely to get extended by another 30,000 soon came as a breather for most of us. But the ground reality is that it’s as tough as it can be to get it today.
I think this marks as an end to my venture with my current job and pushes me into more competent world of consulting where every time you collect your paycheck, you don’t know if you’ll get it next month or will you be looking for another job. Sounds risky, some say not worth it, while others says not needed. I guess it has more to do with your personal satisfaction. Some are more comfortable on ground, while other enjoy the life on Rapids, I guess am one of the later ones.
Not sure if that’s right or wrong, but I don’t like a stable ground below my feet. I need to keep moving, keep fighting, keep forgetting. I love to be lost, lost in thoughts, challenges, and my own world. Well I see that time ahead. Somewhere in all this, I do what to achieve another milestone, buried in my heart, to get Masters. I hope my next step is a step closer to it.
